Thor Høy crosses genres, universes, fields of study and, occasionally, even himself. The overall palette branches out in many different directions, but there’s a point to it. Because when Thor designs, he draws on all his experiences and uses them as resources in a design universe that ranges from lamps to gold and silver jewellery under the Men Up North brand, right through to the wooden tumbler range he has developed for Spring Copenhagen.

Thor Høy does not work with just one material. In his day-to-day work, he uses a wide variety of materials such as steel, glass, porcelain, wood, plastic, gold and silver. Yet he constantly returns to wood. As well as sustainability, quality and tried-and-tested functionality, he strives to create and convey a sense of poetry through his designs.
