A little nudge – with a big impact
What happens when life suddenly takes a wobble? When everyday life is turned upside down, and you need someone who can create a little moment of joy amidst all the difficulties?

Spring Copenhagen has teamed up with the Danish Hospital Clowns (Danske Hospitalsklovne) on ‘Puf’ – a little wooden clown created to bring a smile, but also to tell a story of balance, joy and hope.
For every Puf sold, Spring Copenhagen donates 30 kr. to Danske Hospitalsklovne’s work for sick and vulnerable children and their families.
A clown who always regains his balance
Puf doesn’t stand completely still.
If you give him a little nudge, he wobbles back and forth, spins round and round, and eventually finds his balance again.
And that’s an important part of the story.
Because life doesn’t always stand still either. Sometimes it wobbles. And when illness strikes a child and a family, even small moments of togetherness, play and joy can make a huge difference.
These are precisely the moments that the Danish Hospital Clowns work to create.
A bit quirky – just like the rest of us
Behind Puf is designer Thor Høy.
In creating the character, he drew inspiration from classic clown types and the unique world of the Danish Hospital Clowns.
Puf has been given the characteristic clown’s nose, the big smile and an expression full of warmth and humour. At the same time, he is deliberately a little bit quirky.
As Thor Høy himself says:
“The clown stands there smiling, rocking back and forth, spinning round and round, and is a little bit off-kilter, just as most of us humans probably are.”
It is precisely in this imperfection, playfulness and humanity that Puf finds his personality.
Room for life and play
Every day, the Danish Hospital Clowns meet children and families when life is tough.
They bring a sense of presence, imagination, smiles and brief respite from illness – in children’s wards across the country, in child and adolescent psychiatry and in specialist care settings.
The hospital clowns are professionally trained, and their work is only possible through support and donations.
That’s why 30 kr. from every Puf sold goes directly to the Danish Hospital Clowns.
