This frog prince, with his big dark eyes and cheeky attitude, is hard to resist. Not least because Prince is made from FSC®-certified oak and maple.
Taking the leap
There are lots of marvellous frogs in Denmark. Froggy is one of the leapers – the agile frog, or springfrø as we call it in Danish.
The agile frog has long, strong hind legs that work like springs, and Froggy could easily jump a whole metre high and two metres far – if only it weren’t made from FSC®-certified oak and maple.

Chresten Sommer’s designs are intended to appeal to both genders and all ages. They should be simple, emphasise the raw aesthetic of the wood and, ideally, combine the natural with the childlike and charming – and, of course, always be hand-turned. It is crucial to him that his figures have just the right proportions and just the right expression.
He is only truly satisfied when he feels that it is his best design yet. It has always been the craftsmanship – with an emphasis on the ‘hand’ – that has appealed to him. And it was this fascination with craftsmanship that led him to take up wood design as a hobby 15 years ago.
