Morten Gøttler designs from a foundation in the modern Scandinavian design tradition and a firm belief that innovation is the basis of successful design. His designs are recognisable by their well-considered form, exquisite comfort and carefully executed details, as well as their clean, light expression. The self-taught furniture designer prefers to work in wood – especially when it's furniture on the drawing board. He doesn't stick to one particular type – it can be anything from oak to rosewood. Morten Gøttler has many designs in his portfolio – including lamps, where his preferred material is metal. The designer's inspiration can come from anywhere; one day it's the shape of a fruit, the next it's shapes in nature or the material itself that inspires him. For Morten Gøttler, good design adds value to its surroundings. A beautifully designed piece of furniture can change the whole experience of a room – even if there is no other designer furniture in the room. For him, good design equals a better quality of life.
