The Salt Egg

Salt cellar with unique snap-shut mechanism

In addition to the aesthetic beauty in its clean lines, the Salt Egg’s closing mechanism is a distinctive feature of the design. Your lunch guests will be entranced and delighted when they must “crack” the egg to add salt to their dish.

At the same time, the closing mechanism is a perfect way to protect the salt from moisture. Your salt will keep its crisp dryness because it is sealed in.

So you can happily leave the Salt Egg on the table, well protected against damp and grease.

The Salt Egg Salt is the very best of Danish design

Though the blueprints for the Salt Egg are almost half a century old, the design proved difficult to manufacture and the salt cellar was never put into wide-scale production.

However, Spring Copenhagen have now rectified that lapse and once again this notable and unique salt cellar is available for purchase. The Salt Egg typifies the very best of Danish design and is the ideal companion for Tonn-P’s Pepper Bird.
