From industry to interior design
The Formel lamp series was designed by Hans Due in the 1970s. He got his inspiration from the simple lamps that were used as work lights in industry and retail at the time.
His idea was to take this simple design and turn it into a pendant light that could be used in the home.
By maintaining the simplicity and functionality, while making the shade in aluminium instead of the typical glass shade, he succeeded in turning it into a lamp for the private home.
The lamp has been out of production for a number of years, but in 2022 Spring Copenhagen relaunched Hans Due's beautiful design so that it can once again find a place in the home.
Find the right lamp for your needs
The Formel lamp was initially thought of as a pendant, but later it also became a floor lamp.
In our relaunch, we have made Formel as a pendant in sizes Ø26, Ø40 and Ø50, and we have also made it as a floor lamp, table lamp and wall lamp. This makes it easy for you to find a Formel lamp for your specific needs.
