Grounded Craftwork is innovative Danish design with local roots, known for unique furniture and exceptional wooden accessories. The designs often come in series, and what they all share is their original form and sense of lightness. All Grounded Craftwork products are designed and made by hand in Christian Riis' joinery workshop at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. Christian Riis works with a wide range of materials: oak, ash, walnut, linoleum and wool. Common to all his work is that the design springs from the strength and properties of the wood. He works the wood with a sharp eye for his idea. In this way, he bridges material, design and craftsmanship to create his truly unique products.
